Open for more than 5 centuries, the spring here was discovered by a worker at the silver mine formerly located here, this mine being one of the three largest of its time. The waters are known for their healing effects, and the unique atmosphere of the old wooden buildings lining up on both sides of the narrow rushing Ginzan-gawa (river) are perfect for a mountain spring. Designated as a public health spring in 1968. A footbath is set up near the entrance of hot spring district. |
