The Yoi Matsuri (festival) takes place on the twenty-fourth from seven to nine p.m. as the annual festival of the Tozawa Shrine (Shinjo Clan Lords), with floats from north and south of downtown gathering at the main street in front of the station. The Hon Matsuri is dedicated to the Tenman Shrine, as a multitude of "mikoshi" (portable shrine) and floats parade through the streets of downtown, departing from the castle ruins (Mogami Park) at 10 a.m. The Ato Matsuri is held in honor of the Gokoku Shrine, with deer dancing and other events. |
